This Buddha sits in meditation in the lotus position, with one hand pointed towards the earth.

This position symbolises the enlightenment that Buddha reached while meditating under the Bodhi tree. In touching the ground, he summoned the earth goddess, Sthavara, to bear witness to his enlightenment.

The statue stands at approximately 19cm tall and has been made of resin. It has then been painted to give it a burnished bronze look, with highlights picked out in burnished gold and copper.
